About This Guide

A high-efficiency Enderman XP farm built in the End dimension. Uses a dark spawning platform with water channels to push Endermen into a drop shaft. One-hit kills give massive XP — the fastest way to level up in Minecraft. This intermediate mob grinder build works in Minecraft Java Edition and Bedrock Edition, version 1.20+ and above. Budget around 25-35 minutes for construction — have all materials in your inventory before you begin.

Difficulty: Intermediate

The Intermediate rating reflects either multi-layered construction, a larger footprint that demands planning ahead, or simple redstone circuits. You should be comfortable with basic survival mechanics and resource gathering before starting. Budget extra time for iteration — not everything lines up perfectly the first try.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Build Collection System

In the End dimension, at least 128 blocks from the main island, build a collection base. Place a chest with two hoppers feeding into it. This catches all Enderman drops — ender pearls and XP orbs.

💡 Tip: Build far from the main island so Endermen only spawn on YOUR platform, not the ground.

Step 2: Build the Kill Chamber

Above the hoppers, build an obsidian-walled kill chamber. Use slabs for a viewing window so you can see and hit Enderman feet. The chamber should be 1x1 where mobs land.

💡 Tip: Obsidian is Enderman-proof. They cannot pick it up or teleport through it. Essential for the kill chamber.

Step 3: Build Dark Spawning Platform

High above the kill chamber, build a 7x7 dark spawning platform with a 3x3 hole in the center. Endermen spawn on this platform and fall through the center hole into the kill zone below.

💡 Tip: The End is naturally dark, so any solid block works. The 3x3 hole ensures Endermen fall consistently.

Step 4: Add Water Push Channels

On top of the platform edges, place water source blocks on all four sides. Water scares Endermen — they teleport away from it and fall into the center hole. Also place carpet at corners to prevent spider spawns.

💡 Tip: Endermen HATE water. They will teleport randomly when touched by it, which pushes them toward the hole.

Step 5: Add Perimeter Walls

Build cobblestone walls around the platform perimeter, 2 blocks high. This keeps water contained and prevents Endermen from walking off the wrong edge. The walls funnel everything toward the center.

💡 Tip: Make sure walls are at least 2 blocks high. Endermen are 3 blocks tall but the walls just need to block water.

Step 6: Activate and Farm XP

Stand at the kill chamber and look through the slab gap. Endermen spawn on the platform, get scared by water, fall through the hole, and land at one-hit health. Spam attack for massive XP. Level 0 to 30 in under 2 minutes.

💡 Tip: Bring a looting sword for extra ender pearl drops. This farm can get you hundreds of pearls per hour.
